Thank You Grandpa

When I was a little girl,
I used to laugh and play
I fell and got a boo boo
And you would make it all okay

Then I became a teenager
Afraid and unaware
You told me I was beautiful
You showed me that you cared

When I graduated High School
You were there to watch me walk
You told me you were proud of me
We really got to talk

Then I soon found out
That your cancer spread
The chemo didn’t work
Soon you would be dead

Soon I had to say good bye
And I will never forget
The time you said I love you too
Before you took your last breath

I will always love you
I know you are okay
And grandpa I am proud of you
You made me who I am today
